Chalfont grew up where the creeks meet, and New Britain sits right next door to Doylestown. Between them and out through Warrington and Hilltown, there are older stone and stone-faced houses, and a lot of newer homes with flagstone patios, front walks, steps and garden walls that are now old enough to need care.

What we see here

  • Patios and walks fifteen or twenty years old with open joints, weeds and loose stones.
  • Front steps with loose treads and failing joints, which is a safety problem as well as a looks problem.
  • Chimneys losing mortar near the top.
  • Older stone homes near the creeks with damp foundations and tired pointing.
  • Garden walls that need recapping and repointing.

What we do here

Most jobs here are about upkeep done right: repointing houses and chimneys, restoring patios, walks and steps, wall repair and sealing. A little attention every few years keeps stone looking good and saves you from bigger repairs later. Our yearly stone maintenance checklist shows what to look for.

Questions we hear on site

Do you work on newer homes with stone veneer or stone patios?
Yes. Newer stone patios, walks, steps and walls need maintenance too: repointing open joints, resetting stones and sealing. We also repair stone veneer that has loose pieces or failing joints.
My chimney is losing mortar. Is that urgent?
It should be looked at soon. Chimneys take more weather than any other part of the house, and open joints let water into the chimney and the house below. Catching it early is usually a straightforward repointing job.
How long does a patio restoration take?
Many patios and walks are done in a few days, depending on size and how many stones need resetting. Sealing happens after the mortar has cured, which can mean a second short visit.
